Group Tour Overview

Explore Madrid, Avilla, the city of St. Theresa and then follow thousands of christians on Camino Real, the Path of St. James to Santiago de campostela. Then cross the Portuguesse border to visit Tomar, the stronghold of the Knights of Christ, and spend a few days in Fatima. End the tour in Lisbon, the capital of Portugal, to visit Jeronimo Monastery, and belem Tower, once the launching point for the sailors sailing to the New World.

Day-1. DEPARTURE CITY-MADRID: Trans Atlantic flight to Europe 

Day-2. MADRID: Arrival madrid and panoramic tour of the Spanish capital. See:  Retiro Park, Puerta del Sol,  the Opera, Plaza Mayor, Plaza de la Villa, Basilica de San Miguel and Capilla del Obispo. Then to your hotel located just 150 m. from Puerta del Sol, point zero of the city and the whole country. D.

Day-3. MADRID: Walk to Palacio Real for guide tour of the residence of Spanish Royal Family. See the State Chambers, the armoury rooms and the courtyard. Then to Almudena, the Cathedral of Madrid, the seat of the Roman catholic Archdiocese of Madrid. Holy mass in Cathedral and then join your tour director on walking tour along Gran Via.  B.D..

Day-4. AVILLA-SEGOVIA: Full day tour to Guadarama Mountains. First visit Avilla, surrounded by massive medieval walls, known as the city of St. Theresa. Visit unique cathedral build in the walls and the Convent of St. Theresa. Then to Segovia, known by huge aqueduct built by Roman army as their main water supply in 1st AD. Also visit the Moorish Alcazar and the Pink Cathedral Overnight in Segovia

Day-5. ROUTE OF ST. JAMES: Travel along the route of Camino de Santiago, the most popular pilgrimage route in Europe, where thousands of people follow St. James Way which end in Santiago de Compostela. En route stop in Leon, the capital of the province of Leon, to visit amazing Cathedral of Leon,  and Basilica of San Isidoro. Then to Santiago and your hotel for dinner and overnight. B.D.

Day-6.  SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA: Guided walking tour  of the Old Town to see the main sites of this “religious capital of Spain”. Visit the Cathedral which houses the remains of St. James the Great, one of the apostles of Jesus. Later visit the “Door of Glory”. Then walk to monastery of San Francisco, housing a community of Franciscan friars. Later visit the Museum of the Holy Land, with the impressive model of the Holy Sepulchre which was crafted in Jerusalem, 60 years ago. In the evening Holly Mass in Cathedral.

Day-7. SANTIAGO-FATIMA: Follow the Portuguese pilgrimage route. Stop in Porto, second largest city and then to Tomar, site of Convento de Christo Monastery, one of the strongholds of Templars. Visit the Castle of the Knights Templar, built as the defence of the Christian kingdom against Moors in 12th century, modelled as the copy of Church of Holly Sepulchre in Jerusalem. Then to Fatima, one of the most important Mariane shrines for Catholics from around the world.        

Day-8. FATIMA: A full day in this great place where Blessed Virgin Mary appeared to three shepherd children in 1917. Visit the Basilica of our Lady of Fatima, and celebrate the Mass. Then see the burial site of two kids Francisco and Jacinta which died in 1919 as the victims of Spanish Flu. Later visit the Hamlet of Aljustrel, where the children lived.   

Day-9. FATIMA-SANTAREM-LISBON: Morning departure Fatima. Drive to Santarem, home of the 13th century Eucharistic miracle. Visit the church of St. Stephen of the Holy Miracle  and then join your guide on walking tour through amazing Gardens of the Sun and the local market. Some free time in the town, and then to Lisbon and your hotel next to Alfama District. Holly Mass in Cathedral.      

Day-10. LISBON: Tour Lisbon to see two "Wonders" of Portugal". First see the Tower of Belem, the symbol of Lisbon, and the launching point for the ships sailing for the New World. See statue of Our lady of Safe Homecoming, a symbol of protection for sailors on their voyages.  UNESCO World Heritage Site. Then a short ride to Praca do Imperio to visit Jeronimo's Monastery containing the tomb of great explorer Vasco da Gama. Then drive past the Bull Ring to the Pombal Statue, and along the grand Avenida da Liberdade. to explore Alfama district and Castelo de Sao Jorge. Mariden farewell dinner.
