Yassou Hellas .....The best of Classic Greece. From Delphi, the site of Pythian Games to Ancient Olympia, site of the first Olympic Games in 779 BC. From Palace of King Agamemnon in Mycenae to Corinth Canal, the masterpiece of Roman engineering. And then explore Athens with Agora and Acropolis sites.
Day-1. DEPARTURE CITY-ATHENS: Overnight flight to Greece.
Day-2. ATHENS-ITHEA: Arrival Athens and transfer along the Greek coastal highway, to seaside town of Ithea nad your hotel just 100 m. from the bay Evening walking tour along the bay.
Day-3. DELPHI-OLYMPIA: Guided tour of Ancient Delphi, site of the PythianGames, and the most celebrated place in Greek history. See the sanctuary, visit the archeological museum, and then cross the bridge to reach Peloponnese. Then along the Western Coast to Olympia for overnight.
Day-4. OLYMPIA-TOLO: Guided tour of Ancient Olympia, site of the first Olympic Games. Visit the Temple of Hera, the remains of wrestling school and Olympic track & filed stadium. a rare opportunity to race on the same fields as the ancient Greeks. Then to Tolo, seaside town and your beach front hotel.
Day-5. NAUPLION-TOLO: Excursion to nearby Nauplion, the former capital of
Greece. Climb 987 stairs to Palamidi Fortress crowning the city, with amazing view over the Bay of Nauplion.Then we walk back to the town to view Butrazzi Fortress and Ottoman school. In the afternoon return to Tolo for some relax on the sandy beaches.
Day-6. MYCENAE-CORINTH-ATHENS: Full day at Argolis. First visit Epidaurus for tour of the best acoustic theatre in the world, build in 5th BC. Then to Mycenae to visit Palace of King Agamemnon and his treasury. Then to Corinth Canal to see this masterpiece of Roman engineering. Then to Athens and your four star hotel next to Omonia, the main square of the city.
Day-7. ATHENS: Guided tour of Athens. Visit Acropolis site with Parthenon, Temple of Athina Nike, Propylaea and Theatre of Dionysus. Then walk to Greek Agora, the central market of the Athenians since 5th BC. Then just a short walk to Roman Agora, created after Romans conquered Athens. Later visit Syntagma, the main square of Athens with the Parliament building. See the changing of the guards performed by Evzones. before dinner in original Greek Taverna.
Day-8. ATHENS: Join your tour director on walking tour to see the other sites of Athens, such as: Academia, University, the Library, Cathedral of St. Denis, and ancient tombs under Syntagma square. Rest of the day is free for some fun at Monastiraki open air market, the best place for shopping, and Plaka with typical tavernas.
