Holy Land & Jordan: November 4. 2021

Group Tour Overview

Visit the main cities and places in Holy Land. From Nazareth and Sea of Galilee, to Dead Sea. From Masada fortress to Basilica of Nativity. Walk along Via Dolorosa and pray in Betlehme. Then visit the Baptismal site in Jordan and Mt. Nebo where Moses was laid to rest. Great tour from November until March.

Day-1. DEPARTURE CITY TO EUROPE

Day-2 TEL AVIV-TIBERIUS: Arrival Tel Aviv, meet your multilingual guide and ride to Tiberius and your hotel for dinner and overnight. D.

Day 3  MT. CARMEL-NAZARETH-CANA-TIBERIUS: Travel to Caesarea to visit the Roman and Crusader ruins, where the Romans held Paul prisoner. Stop in Haifa where we see the Bahai Hanging Gardens and visit Stella Maris, a Carmelite Monastery which houses the Madonna of Mt. Carmel. Time for prayer, and ride to Mukhraka where the Carmelite Order began. Next stop is Nazareth to visit the Basilica of the Annunciation, and the Church of the Angel Gabriel. Head on to Cana, where Jesus performed his first miracle changing water into wine. Holy Mass in Nazareth, and overnight in Tiberius B.D.

Day 4. CAPERNAUM-Mt. BETITUDES-TABGHA-MT. TABOR-YARDENIT: Boat ride across the Sea of Galilee where Christ walked on water. Then visit the holy site Capernaum, and St. Peter's house, where Jesus would have stayed while ministering in the area. Then to Mount of Beatitudes, where the Sermon on the Mount was given. There will be a Mass near the shores of the Sea of Galilee at the Primacy of Mt. Beatitudes. Continue to Tabgha, to Church of Peter's Primacy. Enjoy St. Peters fish lunch, and drive to Mt. Tabor, scene of the Transfiguration, where we will have Mass. Stop in Yardenit at the Jordan River, where we will renew our Baptismal Vows. Overnight in Tiberius. B.L.D.

Day 5. MADABA-MT. NEBO-PETRA:Ride to Allenby Bridge to enter Jordan. Stop in Madaba to visit St. George’s Cathedral and proceed to Mount Nebo, the alleged burial place of Mosses, for panoramic view of the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and River Jordan. Then to Petra and check into your hotel. B.D.

Day 6. PETRA-AMMAN: Visit to ancient Petra, World Heritage Site, and one of the new seven wonders of the world. At the gates of Petra, horses are waiting to take the guests on the short ride  till the beginning of the Siq. (ad US$20 cash). Walk through the canyon to Roman Theatre and Royal Tombs.Then to Amman, for dinner and overnight. B/D.

Day-7. QASR EL YAHUD-QUMRAN-BETHANY-JERUSALEM: Back to Israel to visit the traditional site of Baptism at Qasr El Yahud, where John baptized Jesus. Enjoy a viewpoint on Jericho, the oldest city in the world, with splendid view of Mt. Temptation where Jesus fasted and was tempted by Satan. Visit Qumran, and time for a swim (or rather a float) in the mineral-rich waters of Dead Sea.  Stop for Holy Mass, in Bethany, where Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead.End the day in Jerusalem. B/D.

Day 8. MT. OLIVES-BETLEHEM-JERUSALEM: Visit Mt. of Olives to walk the Palm Sunday route. Then visit the Rock of Agony where Jesus prayed his last prayer before being arrested. We visit Pater Noster, where the universality of the Catholic Church is evident, and Chapel of the Ascension from where Jesus ascended to Heaven. Drive to Shepherd's Fields where the angels announced the birth of Jesus and visit the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem, which stands upon the site where Jesus was born.Some free time before Holy Mass and dinner in Jerusalem. B/D.

Day-9. JERUSALEM: Walk along the Via Dolorosa (Way of Sorrow), through the Old City and pray along the Stations of the Cross as we walk the same path Jesus took. Visit St. Anne's Church, home of Virgin Mary, and Holy Sepulcher for Mass. Continue to Western Wall and Mt. Zion gate to visit the Upper Room the location of the Last Supper and the Dormition Abbey where we believe the blessed Mary died. End the day at St. Peter in Gallicantu where Peter denied Christ three times. Free time to rest or explore Jerusalem. Return to our hotel for dinner.Holy Mass at St. Ann Church, Holy Sepulcher or Mt. Zion. Overnight in Jerusalem B/D.

Day-10.  DEPARTURE: Ride to Tel Aviv for your flight to Canada. B
