and two days of work and classes in local JH or high school.
Day-1.TRAVEL TO ST. LUCIA: Red eye (midnight) flight to Toronto and continue to Hewanorra in St. Lucia. Arrival, and board the Motor coach for ride along the Western Coast to Soufriere hotel for for overnight.
Day-2. VOLCANO & NATIONAL PARK: Ride & hike & drive-in to Soufriere Volcano, the main attraction of St. Lucia, featuring bubbling sulphuric waters. This is the only volcano in the world where the road travels right through the volcano crater. You will hike approx. 3 hours on marked train led by the local biologist. See the local plants, tropical flowers, and hummingbirds. Return to your hotel for some relax at the swimming pool.
Day-3. ST. LUCIA - MARTINIQUE: Transfer to Castries and board the hydrofoil for approx. 2 hours ride to Martinique. Arrival Fort de France, Grab a quick lunch and board your private bus to Trois-Ilet eco adventure. Then to the quaint village of Sainte Anne. Settle in your hotel, enjoy a three course meal in a St Anne restaurant. and then walking tour along the Bay of St. Anne.
Day 4 - SAINTE ANNE: Wake up and get ready for class: your school program starts today! Go down the street for a filling breakfast, and join the local pupils on their way to Sainte Anne elementary school. Lead conversational and artistic activities in small groups with 8 years old children. Teach your fellow students songs in English, and they will teach you songs in French and Creol language. For lunch take time to relax and shop in the lovely village. Meet again with your Martinican friends on ecology field trip led by their teachers. Share your Canadian outdoor games with them, and learn chat perche!
Day 5 - SAINTE ANNE: More school exchange today! After breakfast, stop by the creyol market on your way to school. All these colours, these new scents...Take it all in! Morning at Saint Anne's Secondary School. In a class discussion setting, with team-building games, get to know the Martinicains of your age. What are their hobbies and interests, what do they know about Canada? Learn what make you all so similar and so different. End the morning with traditional Martinican snacks that your fellow students prepared. Lunch and free afternoon in town.
Day 6 - SAINTE ANNE - TARTANE: After breakfast get on a 2 hours bus ride, and say Bonjour to the park ranger who will guide us through the Parc Naturel de la Caravelle. Hike along the water by great rock formations, see the birds nesting and discover flowers you have never seen before. Learn about Martinique history at the ruins of the Dubuc Estate. Explore the mangrove, and its various species of crabs. Have dinner in the fishermen village of Tartane before heading back home to Sainte Anne.
Day-7. Day 7. MARTINIQUE-ST. LUCIA: Board the express ferry to Castries, Saint Lucia for a couple of hours of Caribbean cruise. This is your chance to see more of Saint Lucia and to compare the difference in the two islands’ creyol cultures. Celebrate your last night with a nice diner. Reflect over your travel experience and the school exchange. Look how much your French improved! Some free time in the afternoon
Day-8. DEPARTURE: Return flight to Canada with possible extension for one or two days in Montreal
