The tour proved a closer look to less know area of Eastern France, Western Germany, and French speaking part of Switzerland. After Paris, we will spend three day to explore Alsace region with characteristic half-timber houses, rolling hills and small towns where the people built the houses in the same way as in the last few hundred of years. From great town of Strasbourg and its Cathedral to Colmar one of the prettiest European towns, before we explore Lausanne and Geneve one of the capitals of United Europe.
Day-1. DEPARTURE CITY - PARIS:
Day-2. PARIS: Arrival Paris and transfer to the city. Then start with panoramic tour of the capital with several stops. During the tour you will also see: Le Bastille, Luxembourg Garden, Sorbonne University, Latin Quarter, Champ d’ Mars, Champ Elisees, the National Assembly and Place de la Concorde. Then to your hotel next to Montmartre. After check in, join your tour director on dinner in Carrilon, the original Parisian bistro.
Day-3. PARIS: Metro to Ille de la Cite, the cradle of Parisian civilization, place where the Roman army sat up their fist camp, and place where the prisoners from French Revolution spend their last days. Enjoy the inside visit of Notre Dame and then along Pont Neuf and Place Dauphine, to view Conciergerie Prison from where during the revolution, over 1,350 prisoners including Marie Antoinette and King Louis XVII. were sent to the guillotine on Place de la Concorde. Then to Marais, the best kept secret of the city, with labyrinth of cobble-stone streets, posh villas, medieval courtyards ands endless art galleries, antique stores and pastry. shops. View Place de Vosges, probably the most beautiful palace in Paris before visit to Louvre.
Day-4. PARIS - VERSAILLES: Morning travel to nearby town of Versailles to visit Chateau Versailles, the lavish palace of of Louis XIV, the Sun King. Visit: the Royal Chapel, Drawing Rooms, the Royal Bedrooms, Map Gallery and the courtyard. Lunch break in the town and return to Paris and board Bateaux Mouches for cruise on Seine River. Some free time in the afternoon. We suggest to you to visit Galleries Lafayette’s seventh floor glass dome and observatory with amazing view over the city.
Day-5. PARIS-STRASBOURG-COLMAR: Speedy TGV train ride to Strasbourg. Upon arrival start with a guided city tour. See the main sites: the Cathedral of Notre Dame, Citadel, Palais de Europe, Place Kleber, Tanner’s quarter and Hopital Civil. Then to Colmar for overnight.Day-
6. COLMAR: Explore Colmar, one of the most beautiful towns in Europe with its characteristic half timbered houses. See / visit Champ de Mars, Custom House, Little Venice, Dominican Church, Old Town, and the Guard House. In the afternoon free time along the canals.
Day-7. LAUSSANE-GENEVE: Just a short ride and cross the Swiss border. Then along the Western border and enter French Switzerland. Stop in Lausanne, to see the main sites like: Chateau Saint- Marie, Mudac, Port Ouchy, ,and the Old Town. Then along the Lake to Geneva for dinner and overnight.
Day-8. GENEVE: Full day to explore one of the headquarters of United Nation and Red Cross, the main centre of the world diplomacy and banking, and the birthplace of fine watchmaking. During the walking tour you will feel the French influence from the language (Swiss-French), the architecture of bohemian district of Carouge. and gastronomy. See the main attractions like famous Jet’d’Eau, the Flower Clock, the Palais des Nations, and Cathedral de St. Pierre. Later in the afternoon relax time for walk through Carouge and along the lake to see the Reformation Wall. In the evening Swiss fondue.
