Day-1. TRAVEL TO PARIS:
Day-2. PARIS: Morning arrival and transfer to the city. Then start with panoramic tour to see the main sites of this great city, such as: the Eiffel Tower, Place de la Concorde Notre Dame Cathedral, Champs Élysées, Arc de Triomphe, Opera Garnier, Left Bank, and Sorbonne. Then to your hotel in artistic Montmartre. After check in and refreshment break, join your tour director on walking tour to Louvre for inside visit to one of the greatest art museums in the world, with over 4,000 paintings and sculptures including Mona Lisa, the Venus de Milo, and the Winged Victory of Samothrace.
Day-3. PARIS: Metro to Ille de la Cite, the cradle of Parisian civilization, place where the Roman army sat up their fist camp, and place where the prisoners from French Revolution spend their last days. Enjoy the inside visit of Notre Dame and then along Pont Neuf and Place Dauphine, to view Conciergerie Prison from where during the revolution, over 1,350 prisoners including Marie Antoinette and King Louis XVII. were sent to the guillotine on Place de la Concorde. Then to Marais, the best kept secret of the city, with labyrinth of cobble-stone streets, posh villas, medieval courtyards ands endless art galleries, antique stores and pastry. shops. View Place de Vosges, probably the most beautiful palace in Paris before you visit Louvre Museum. End the day with a walking tour to Arc d’ Triumph and along Champs Elysees.
Day-4. PARIS -VIMY RIDGE - PARIS: Early morning departure to Vimy Ridge. Upon arrival, you will join thousands of Canadians which will attend the 100th anniversary ceremony of the battle of Vimy Ridge, together with our PM and world’s dignitaries. The ceremony will start around 10 am, but the final schedule will be known in later stage. Visit to the trenches, the monument and the site will depend on the official time table. After the ceremony, some free time before we return to Paris.
Day-5. PARIS - ROME: Morning transfer to the airport for your short flight to Rome. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel just 10 minutes walk to Colosseum. Leave the luggage and join the local guide on guided tour of the main sites of Ancient Rome. See / visit: the Colosseum, Arch of Constantine, Roman Forum, Capitoline Hill, Piazza Venezzia and Victor Emanuel Monument.
Day-6. POMPEII-MONTE CASINO-ROME: A full day excursion to Italian South. First visit the archeological site of Ancient Pompeii, once the most prosperous city south of Rome, which was almost completely destroyed after the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius in AD 79. After the excavation of over 300 years the city is again on display to the visitors. Then travel to Monte Casino, site of one of the bloodiest battles in Italian soil in WW II along the Gustav Line with involvement of Canadian Regiments: Three Rivers, Calgary and Ontario Regiments. Visit the Cemetery commemorating the Canadian soldiers before late return to Rome.
Day-7. VATICAN: Metro to Vatican for visit to Vatican Museum. Beside the Vatican garden and Rafael Rooms, you will also visit Sistine Chapel, site of the enclave for the election of the Popes, and St. Peters Basilica, the largest catholic church in the world, with Micchelangelo’s Pieta. In the afternoon visit Pantheon, and Trevi Fountain, one of the symbols of Rome. Rest of the day is free for some fun along Via Corso
Day-8. DEPARTURE: Free time until noon and then direct 3 pm. flight to Toronto.
